GoDaddy Dedicated Hosting
I have been a godaddy customer for almost an year now. They have impressed me a lot with their professionalism and cheap rates.
We see a lot of not so good reviews about godaddy on net. But our experience has been quite opposite. We had real experience of having a self managed VPS and a dedicated server with them
For both dedicated and vrtual dedicated, they offer a lots of options. It is infact very easy to custom build and upgrade your hosting package. RAM is available up to 4 GB, for dedicated servers, and 512 mb for virtual dedicated.
On the flip side, they dont offer high end servers with xeon processors or SCSI disks. But for normal requirements, they have plenty of options.
Support is quite good, takes around 3-5 hrs for reply. They also have a 24 hrs helpline, in case of emergency. Please note that they dont offer managed hosting, its your responsibility to ensure that the server software is working fine. They fix any hardware issues and will reinstall the OS, if needed.
Rates are reasonable, depending on your selected configuration. Around 125-150 USD, you can get a good deicated hosting. Something around 75 USD will be good enough for a reasonable virtual dedicated server. rates can be much lesser, if you can settle for a lower configuration.
Recently, they have started giving support for dedicated servers. Namaed "Assisted Service Plan", it cost from $99.99 to $149.99 per month, depending on when you buy the plan. Must say, this is bit costly if you compare the cost with someone like hostgator. Godaddy is ideal for experienced webmasters looking for a value self managed server.
Overall, highly recommended, if you can manage your web server.
